The Global Action Network Action Plan includes arranging annual meetings, workshops and events, recognize interested parties and establish connections to promote collaboration and interaction among cross-sectorial actors focusing on the important elements for food security from Healthy Waters to Healthy People.
|

|
|

During our 2022 Network Meeting, we updated our progress, formulated our targets, and set up TaskForce and working groups relevant to aquatic food to continue mobilising strong actions in 2023.
|
|
|
|
|
At our side event of the 50th meeting of the Committee on World Food Security - 'Solutions for empowering women's engagement in aquatic food systems: a journey through the supply chain', we showcased solutions to empower women and how to scale up these possible solutions.
|
|
|
|
|
|
In 2023, the Global Action Network will have four working groups in the network to conduct multiple projects and/or events. The working groups will be:
|
1. International Year of Artisanal Fisheries and Aquaculture (IYAFA)
|
2. One Food System - a blue & green approach for actions on food and feed
|
3. Bridging the Decades - connection between the UN Ocean Decade and UN Nutrition Decade
|

'Reducing inequalities for food security and nutrition' by HLPE-FSN
|
|
|
The High Level Panel of Experts on Food Security and Nutrition (HLPE-FSN) of the Committee on World Food Security (CFS) is calling for online consultation for the V0 draft of the report “Reducing inequalities for food security and nutrition”.

The Global Action Network will continuously identify challenges, exchange knowledge and solutions related to the key elements of food security. Through the Gain and Share Tool, you can gain and share knowledge to promote sustainable food from the oceans and inland waters for food security and nutrition.

Serving up data on nutrient composition of aquatic foods
|
|
|
Aquatic foods can help alleviate ‘hidden hunger’ or micronutrient deficiencies in a range of geographies. But nutrient composition data for many species, food types and geographies are limited. Here is a summary of existing food composition databases, and how they may complement each other

Stewarding rich marine ecosystems: a shared responsibility for Norway and Sudan
|

Norway and Sudan have been working closely to achieve long-term sustainability in the Sudan's Red Sea particularly for small scale fisheries. The work involves capacity building, training and outreach for all relevant stakeholders in line with the Ecosystem Approach to Fisheries Management.
