New Network Commitment
|
At the 2022 UN Ocean Conference Norway committed to continue the Global Action Network until 2030. The commitment aims at bridging the UN Decade of Action on Nutrition (2016-2025) and the UN Decade of Ocean Science (2021-2030).

"The Global Action Network Action Plan includes arranging annual meetings, workshops and events, recognize interested parties and establish connections to promote collaboration and interaction among cross-sectorial actors focusing on the important elements for food security from healthy Waters to Healthy People."

International Aquaculture Fair

The first International Aquaculture Fair was held in Neiva, Colombia from the 5th to the 7th of May, 2022. A strengthened cooperation on research and development within the aquaculture sector between Norway and Colombia could be fruitful for all parts involved and help bringing forward a more sustainable and efficient aquaculture.

Arctic Frontier 2022 was held in Tromsø, Norway. Scientists, policy-makers and industrial representatives highlighted the importance of sustainable production of aquatic food in the Arctic region for food and nutrient security regionally and globally. However, there are still great challenges that we are facing including climate change.
