Roles of aquatic foods in reducing malnutrition and food insecurity
The challenges remain in supplying food to the growing global population and meeting the increasing demand for nutritious food. These place strain on natural resources and call into question the sustainability of food production. Aquatic foods play a critical role in food security and nutrition in terms of availability, livelihoods, and income, particularly for some vulnerable and disadvantaged people. They may help overcome malnutrition, and create a healthy community that yields an economy.
